    Aqua Lung Legend Regulator Review

Aqua Lung has had 70 years of experience in producing regulators and have become a trusted brand for producing some of the more high-end quality regulators. In this video, Adreno’s Zoe Pocklington takes us through some of the stand-out features of the Aqua Lung Legend Regulator.

All of the Aqua Lung regulators have been CE approved to ensure a quality design that won’t fail under difficult conditions, with the high-quality Italian manufacturing included in all Aqua Lung products. The legend regulators are capable of withstanding harsh conditions and are designed to thrive at depth and in icy water, so you'd be investing in a quality regulator when buying the Aqua Lung Legend.

First StageThe first stage of the legend regulator is overbalanced whilst the second is pneumatically balanced. An overbalanced regulator means that they are able to function normally if not better at large depths due to the additional pressure.

The first stage includes an Auto Closure Device (ACD) which works by opening a valve and allowing air flow to the first stage when it is locked onto your tank, which then automatically closes when it is removed. This prevents the accumulation of any particulate or corrosive water and maintains the internal lubrication.

Second StageThe second stage includes a master breathing system (MBS) which is intended to allow the diver to adjust their ease of breathing as they dive using just one knob. This system allows for easy adjusting of the position of an internal spring which determines the resistance of air flow and the risk of free flow.

The Comfo-Bite Mouthpiece has been designed by Aqua Lung in conjunction with dentists to achieve a mouthpiece which fits comfortably in the mouth without needing the diver to bite down hard onto the mouthpiece, eliminating jaw fatigue.

Braided Hose The braided hose connecting the two stages is a durable design that refuses to kink or break. As you can see in the video, you can even tie the hose into a knot and it will continue to provide air flow without leaving any kinks.
