The Northern Territory is one of the hottest parts of Australia. Luckily there are a great selction of spearfishing locations and dive sites to explore to escape the hear. To make these easier to navigate, the dive sites have been broken up into 3 different sections.
Spearfishing in the Northern Territory, particularly out of Darwin, can produce nice fish, especially Fingermark, Trout, Mangrove Jacks, Tuskies, Barramundi Cod, Longnose Emperors, Red Emperors and big Black Jewfish. However, if you are planning to spearfish in this area, you will need to be used to visibility under 5m! A lot of areas are close to shore, but it is a good idea to invest in a shark shield, and also take an observer with you at all times as Crocodiles can be a problem – although it is said that they are less of a problem closer to metro areas.
