    South Coast Championships Results

Here is a report from convenor of the South Coast Championships held a couple of weeks ago. Adreno was a major sponsor, donating $2,500 worth of prizes and merchandise!

Its was only a couple weekends ago that we saw the South Coast Spearfishing Championships underway. Held at Ulladulla by the South Coast Sea Snipers, the South Coast Championships seen 46 divers sign-on to compete. Most divers coming from NSW, however Adreno's own Kahlee Andrews made the trip down to experience what we have on offer.

Adreno's Kahlee Andrews had a blast diving in the competition with the Martindale's. Day 1's catch.

Kahlee's catch for Day 2 after learning a lot of the species on Day 1! She speared the most species for Ladies but unfortunately with a 50 point penalty for a small Drummer on Day 1 she came 2nd by 2 points!

Conditions seen up to 20m visibility with patches of warm water and plenty of fish! The top divers weighed in excess of 19 species each day with all bar one diver weighing in a fish. Some top quality fish were weighed in, such as Warren Carter's snapper of around 3kgs and a Boarfish by Adreno's own junior diver - Josh Green.

Adreno's Junior Diver, Josh Green, with a great Boar Fish weighed in for the comp. Josh placed 3rd in Juniors.

Jack Lavendar from the South Coast Barracuda's, took out top spot with Sam Morgan from the Newcastle Neptunes taking out the Junior division; placing him in the top 10 overall!

1st in Juniors Sam Morgan; 1st in Masters; 1st OVERALL Jack Lavendar.

The presentation ran smoothly with all medals and trophies finding a home and a range of competitors taking out the lucky door prize and getting their hands on some awesome Adreno Merchandise!

Some of the top competitors for the South Coast Championships.

Taylah Martindale took out Ladies in a very close finish.

Thanks to those spearo's that made the effort to attend and we hope to see you there next year!
