    Crystal Divers Bali diversBLOG SUBMITTED BY: CRYSTAL DIVERS BALI. Welcome December. It’s been a great start to the festive month here in Bali. Our beloved Indonesian interns, who started off in April this year as Open Water students have now been certified as Master Scuba Divers with 16 PADI Specialties including the new PADI Distinctive; Self-Reliant Diver.

    We celebrated in style with our weekly Diver Night held every Wednesday at our dive centre, hotel, restaurant and bar in Sanur; Hotel Santai;

    The weekly event brings together divers to celebrate our love of the underwater world. Our very own magician; Magic Toto hosts the event with his charming magic shows. Food and drinks are at the ready, as well as new photos from the week's diving projected across our bar via our plasma TV. We also celebrated over 1,000 new signatures for the Project AWARE Shark Petition, collected by our staff and Divemaster Trainees since the last petitions in September.

    December has also seen Crystal Divers reach 1,000 PADI certifications for 2011, a great milestone for Indonesia’s first PADI Career Development Centre. The fun doesn’t stop there, as we are still seeing random sightings of Mola mola and the mantas have been getting frisky and mating infront of our guests. We’ve also just had our last IDC for 2011 with our new OWSIs ready to take on the scuba world.

    Want to help? Anyone wishing to contribute to our amazing scholarship and help change the lives of 7 very special local Indonesian interns on their quest to become Master Scuba Diver Trainers in the new year please contact our Director and Owner; PADI Platinum Course Director Minni Vansgaard;

    We rely solely on donations for the program. PADI have been so kind to provide all necessary training material and waiver the certification fees. Divemasters have provided full sets of equipment from AquaLung and we have had generous donations from individuals. We thank all of those who have made this special once in a lifetime opportunity available to our interns. They still require monthly food and accommodation allowance and other basic equipment such as dive knives, dive computers and compasses so any small contribution will go a long way to helping some aspiring Indonesian instructors.
