March 24, 20141 min read
The Bluewater Freedivers WA annual Pelagic Pairs comp is on again!
BFWA are a WA club based in Perth who regularly dive offshore for pelagic species. Each year the spearos from BFWA get together in pairs for a pelagic shootout followed by a BBQ and prizes.
It is a 1 day event and will land on the calmest day of either 29-30/03/2014 or 5-6/04/2014.
Adreno have been fantastic with agreeing to sponsor the competition and prizes which includes $400 of gift vouchers and $600 of merchandise from Adreno, and another $250 of vouchers from the Hippo Creek Restaurant.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for the pair of divers who shoot the heaviest bag of pelagic species. There will also be a most meritorious fish prize and a mystery fish prize.
Last year there weren’t the most favorable conditions and spearos struggled to find good fish. However this year there have been plenty of reports of good spanish mackerel around so it should be an exciting day.
Club members from Bluewater Freedivers have been consistently taking good pelagics lately!
To join BFWA and compete in this great competition jump onto the “How to Join” section of the BFWA website.
