Adreno's Newest Sponsored Junior Diver - Josh Green

15-year-old Josh Green has been showing real potential lately, placing well in numerous competitions on the South Coast, not only among the juniors but also the seniors. Coming from a family of three brothers and a spearfishing Dad, we're excited to be supporting Josh with some new dive gear as he continues to grow in the sport. Keep an eye out for updates from Josh including this weekend when, alongside Adreno's Kahlee Andrews, he will be competing in the South Coast Championships. We wish them both luck!

I would like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Josh Green, I’m 15 years old, have been spearfishing since I was 7 and competing since February 2010 when I was just 11.

Josh is an avid spearfisherman and Adreno's newest sponsored diver.

For the past year I have been diving with Taylah Martindale, an Australian Ladies Spearfishing Champion, throughout the Newcastle Neptune’s Competitions and will continue to dive with Taylah, Joe and my family.

    A great feed of flathead.

I am extremely passionate and dedicated to my sport. I started out with the Living Water Freedivers Club in Lake Macquarie whom my Dad was a founding member and since starting serious competition in earnest I joined last year the Newcastle Neptune’s, the oldest and largest club in Australia.

Josh competed alongside his Dad and Brother at last years Eden State Titles, taking out the rock hopping division.

    To date I have achieved:

1st under 11’s 2010 Australian Pacific Coast Championships

2nd place Sub-Juniors 2012 at the Canada Cup

Sub-Junior Champion 2012 and 2013 at the Australian Pacific Coast Championships

1st in the Rock hopping division in 2013 at the 3 Way State Championships in Eden and

2nd in the Sub-Juniors and 7th overall in the 2013 Newcastle Neptune’s Club Competition (best 7 of 9 dives).

2nd in Juniors and Top 10 overall in the recent 2014 Canada Cup.

Josh placed 2nd in Juniors and in the Top 10 overall at the recent Canada Cup. He is going to keep us in the loop on any Southern spearfishing competitions where he competes.

I have included photos below of some of my achievements, in particular a 6kg Flathead I speared a few weeks ago to enter into the Neptune’s Challenge. My younger brother Lachlan, also a spearfisherman has a YouTube channel where he has posted about 8 short videos of our exploits over the past year - feel free to check them out and I look forward to keeping you all updated on my future spearfishing adventures.

Thanks heaps to Adreno for the opportunity, it's a real honour.
